Man Accused Of Stabbing Ex-girlfriend Outside Gym Appears In Court

Anthony Monteleone faced Manly Local Court via video link following allegations of stabbing his former girlfriend outside a gym in Sydney’s south.

The 45-year-old stands charged with causing wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder (DV) and breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.

He was under an intensive corrections order at the time of the attack and did not seek bail during the hearing.

The court ordered his continued detention until the next scheduled appearance in July.

The incident unfolded in Alexandria, where Mr Monteleone purportedly ambushed the 39-year-old woman in a gym car park, inflicting stab wounds to her neck and upper body.

Paramedics attended to her before transporting her to the hospital in a stable condition.

Mr Monteleone later surrendered himself to Dee Why Police Station the following morning.
