Lucinda ‘Froomes’ Price On The Toll It Took To Be ‘Hot’

Lucinda ‘Froomes’ Price turned her internet personality into a full-time gig, and her debut book All I Ever Wanted Was to Be Hot unpacks this story.

The debut author knows how much it takes to be ‘hot’ and has dipped her toe into all facets of the Australian media landscape.

Listen to The Briefing’s chat with Froomes here:

In this chat with Antoinette Lattouf, Lucinda reveals just how much her quest to be attractive cost her and how her eating disorder was misdiagnosed for years.

Lucinda opens up about when she went to the doctors, presenting an array of symptoms associated with her eating disorders – and how long it took to receive a diagnosis.

“I think it’s just indicative. I can see now it’s indicative of the fact that so many people, even experts, don’t understand eating disorders,” she said.

“I think a lot of the behaviours that I was doing were in line with depression, which is what happens when you have an eating disorder in my experience: withdrawal, you are hopeless, you can’t find pleasure in normal activities.

“There are so many comorbid conditions when it comes to disordered eating.”
