In one of the most competitive categories of the night, Larry triumphed over well-loved figures such as Robert Irwin, Julia Morris, Asher Keddie, Tony Armstrong, Andy Lee, and Sonia Kruger to claim the prestigious Gold Logie.

Larry first captured hearts as the host of The Price Is Right back in 1993.

Over the years, he has become one of Australia’s most trusted and beloved TV presenters.

“I’ve been in this business 40 years, and for 25, maybe 30 times, I’ve sat in this room and thought, ‘I wonder what it’s like sitting on this fancy table down there,'” he said.

However, the tone quickly shifted as Larry recalled a bold promise he had made earlier in the night.

“I was so convinced that I wasn’t going to win this that I said, if I did win it, I would have all the nominees’ initials tattooed on my ass live tomorrow morning,” he added.

In his speech, Larry expressed his deep love for television, acknowledging the challenges he faced along the way.

Emdur also acknowledged the challenging moments in his television career, referring to himself as “the most axed man” in showbusiness.

“After Price is Right I took a couple of steps down and got axed and axed and axed and Sylvie and I said that’s it, no more crappy shows.”
