International rock ‘n’ roll band KISS will perform during the 2023 AFL grand final’s pre-game entertainment.
The announcement on Monday morning comes after speculation the league had secured the band following Crowded House withdrew from performing.

KISS said it was an honour to perform during the AFL’s biggest day of the year.
“We cannot wait to create rock ‘n’ roll history playing at the iconic MCG in Melbourne for one last time,” the band said.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be to be performing in front of 100,000 footy fans at the biggest and best sporting event in the country!
“Be ready to ROCK as we’ll be coming full throttle into the ‘G. See you for that One Day in September!”
AFL EGM Commercial and Customer Kylie Rogers said the league is ready for KISS to bring the MCG alight on grand final day.
“Their reputation speaks for itself, they are responsible for some of the best live shows in music history and we know Gene, Paul, Eric and Tommy will absolutely rock the MCG pre-game.”
Additional performers will be confirmed by the AFL in the upcoming weeks.
KISS have released 44 albums and have sold more than 100 million worldwide.
The Rock N Roll Hall of Famers are currently touring their “End of the World” tour and will play a final Australian show exclusively at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on October 7.
