A court document said, “His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests”.
The documents also noted he had refused to cooperate in undertaking a breathalyser test.
Timberlake told police he had only consumed one martini, and was following friends home after a dinner.
The 43-year-old was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, and was cited for running the stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
Officer didn’t recognise Timberlake
In a blow to Timberlake’s ego, an insider has claimed the officer who pulled him over did not recognise who the singer was.
The New York Post reported the officer was “so young that he didn’t know” who Timberlake was, even when told his name.
The claims said Timberlake uttered under his breath the arrest would “ruin the tour”, to which the officer asked, “what tour?”
Timberlake is currently in the United States on his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
