Jogger finds human remains wrapped in plastic near Sydney Airport

New South Wales homicide squad are investigating a crime scene where human remains were found wrapped in plastic and dumped.

A jogger made the discovery on Monday morning along Foreshore Road, near Sydney Airport.

Police are attending the scene amongst bushland in Botany, Sydney’s south. The body is yet to be identified.

“Very early this morning I understand that a jogger located a body wrapped in plastic near Foreshore [Road],” NSW police commissioner Karen Webb told reporters.

A NSW Police spokesperson told SkyNews that officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command are being assisted by specialist officers from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced,” they said.

“No further information available at this time.”
