Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed that she and her husband Will Smith have been secretly separated for around seven years.
According to the star, the former couple have been living “completely separate lives” since 2016.
Pinkett Smith made the revelations in a snippet from her upcoming NBC News primetime special.
She explained that the separation had not yet been made public because the pair were not “ready yet”.

Smith 55 and Pinkett Smith 52, were married in 1997 and have most recently come under scrutiny after Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock on national television after Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.
Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia which causes a person to lose their hair.
The actor recently explained to People that she believed the slap was part of a comedic skit.
‘There’s no way that Will hit him,’” she said.
“It wasn’t until Will started to walk back to his chair that I even realized it wasn’t a skit.”
Prior to the attack on Rock, the pair’s relationship was put under the microscope after Pinkett Smith revealed that she became involved in a romantic “entanglement” with singer August Alsina in 2020.
Pinkett Smith revealed the relationship during an episode of her show “Red Table Talk”.
