Barbie fever has officially set in with the help of a mammoth marketing budget that dwarfs how much it was to film it. One would have to be living under a rock to miss the millions of videos on social media. Fans have also been delighted by Margot Robbie’s Barbie-inspired outfits worn throughout the film’s global press tour, which has just wrapped up.
So what do we think of the most anticipated film of the year? Host of Listnr’s The Streaming Service Justin Hill and The Briefing Co-host Katrina Blowers checked out the film to find out if it’s worth the hype.
“It was really a show that celebrated femininity and girl-power but I also think Ryan Gosling stole the show,”
Katrina Blowers
“I know. He genuinely is so good and it’s even better when you go and watch it and you know that he did this for his daughters and you know, he totally embraces having a fun and silly time.”
Justin Hill
“I walked out of it just feeling very good. Like I’d been given a big hug and that it was, you know, I kind of feel like it’s the film that the world needs right now, that it’s not too crazy or complicated, but it’s a laugh and just a really great time.”
Barbie opens in theatres on Thursday, July 20.
