We all know Santa as a jolly old white man with a grey beard and a red suit, but is this vision of Mr Claus about to change?
Australian director Nick Sweeney, AKA Jane Roe, has produced a documentary about Saint Nicks and Mrs Clauses from all walks of life at a Santa training camp in the US.
In this episode we explore how accepting people are about the idea of a more diverse picture of Santa Claus.
With Santa playing so many important roles in our childrens’ lives, Nick explains why arugably the most recognisable figure in the world needs to be depicted in more ways than we traditionally know.
”Adapting to change. Never easy,” she says.
“They have to wear hats and not just a Santa hat.
“They’ve gotta be a psychologist and a teacher, and a magician, and a, a confidant. Like they have to really be ready for anything.”
