Highpoint shopping centre in Maribyrnong, Melbourne’s inner-west, witnessed another stabbing incident in less than a week.
The tabbing occurred yesterday around 6:10pm near the cinema complex inside the shopping centre.
According to Victoria Police, six males, including two of whom were armed with machetes, were fighting near the cinema inside the shopping centre.
An 18-year-old man from St Albans sustained a suspected stab wound to the arm and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police arrested three individuals aged between 17 and 18.
The 17-year-old from Braybrook was charged with offences including intentionally causing serious injury, affray, assault with a weapon, and possession of a controlled weapon.
He has been bailed to appear in a children’s court, while the other two individuals were released pending further investigation.
Authorities said individuals involved in the altercation were known to each other.
This incident marked the second stabbing at the Highpoint shopping centre within a week.
On Sunday last week, another violent event occurred, resulting in a 19-year-old man being hospitalised with serious stab wounds.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man from Kings Park, who is currently facing charges of intentionally causing serious injury, affray, and weapons offences.
