The IDF has confirmed the death of Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar, one of the architects behind the October 7 attack on Israel that sparked the war.
Sinwar was one of the most senior figures of Hamas. He took over as leader after the assassination of former head Ismail Haniyeh in July. Hamas hasn’t commented yet.

The targeted operation also killed Mohammed Deif, the leader of Hamas’s military wing.
