Police have recovered a firearm and ammunition allegedly stolen from an unmarked police vehicle in Townsville earlier this week.
Four men, aged between 18 and 40, are accused of breaking into five cars at a secure apartment complex in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Among the stolen items were a police-issued firearm and ammunition, reportedly taken from the unmarked vehicle.
After an extensive search, authorities confirmed the recovery of the firearm and ammunition on Thursday.
Jye Walker, 18, Reagan Sailor, 24, Jack Spark, 25, and Adam Kubea, 40, were arrested and charged with several offences, including unlawfully using a firearm and illegal possession of weapons.
The group remain in custody and are set to appear in court next year.
Following the incident, the Ethical Standards Command is investigating potential breaches of the Queensland Weapons Act, which mandates that firearms and ammunition be stored in separate, secure containers.
The officer involved has been reassigned to non-operational duties while an internal review is conducted.
