Five-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit By Car In Northern Beaches

A five-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car in Sydney’s northern beaches on Sunday afternoon. 

Emergency services were called out to Anzac Avenue in Collaroy at around 1.25PM following reports a child had been injured.

Paramedics attempted to treat the boy before transporting him to Sydney Children’s Hospital where he passed away from his injuries that evening. 

A 77-year-old man who was alleged to have been driving the vehicle that struck the child has been transported to Northern Beaches Hospital for assessment.

Police established a crime scene as they investigate the possible cause of the crash. 

A formal report is yet to be prepared for the coroner.
