California in the US has just been hit by a 5.1 magnitude earthquake ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Hilary.
Experts have identified the epicentre of the earthquake in Ojai near Santa Barbara and Ventura.
The quake has since been followed by two aftershocks measuring a magnitude of 3.1 and 3.6.
The earthquake comes as the state experiences strong wind and rain due to Tropical Storm Hilary which has been downgraded from a hurricane.
Weather experts have also warned of the potential for deadly flooding amid the storm.
The storm made landfall in Mexico and has caused significant rainfall since Sunday (local time).
A California official has said that Tropical Storm Hilary is likely to be one of the most dangerous storms to reach the state in several years.
Arizona residents have been warned to reach higher ground as flooding becomes more likely while Clark County in. Nevada have issued a state of emergency.
