This surge comes as the Coalition holds steady in its two-party-preferred lead, at 51 per cent to Labor’s 49 per cent.

The Greens have seen their support drop by another point to 11 per cent in the Queensland state election.

This marks their lowest support level since the last election, slipping one point below their election result of 12.2 per cent.

The decline in support for the Greens appears to coincide with a shift toward Labor, following Albanese’s $16 billion student debt relief proposal aimed at younger voters.

Meanwhile, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation also saw a two-point decline, bringing its primary vote to 5 per cent, aligning with its last election result.

Support for other minor parties and independents, including teal independents, dropped a point to 11 per cent, down from the 14.5 per cent they achieved in the previous election.

The results suggest that strength of leadership will likely be a key focus in the lead-up to the next election, expected by May 2025.
