Duchess Of York Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson has undergone surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer. 

A spokesperson for the 63-year-old said the Duchess was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer during a routine mammogram.

Ferguson is believed to have undergone a successful surgery and has since been discharged from King Edward VII’s Hospital in London to recover at home in Windsor. 

King Edward VII’s Hospital is a private clinic where Queen Elizabeth II was previously treated.

According to the Duchess’s spokesperson, Ferguson is “…receiving the best medical care and… is now recuperating with her family”.

The Duchess has expressed “immense gratitude to all the medical staff who have supported her in recent days”.

Prior to her diagnoses, Ferguson had exhibited no symptoms and hopes her experience will highlight the “importance of regular screening”.
