Daniel Morcombe’s family release first tell-all documentary

Twenty years on from the day schoolboy Daniel Morcombe disappeared from the side of a Queensland road, the Morcombe family have sat down in a new tell-all documentary for the very first time.

Daniel was abducted from the side of a Sunshine Coast road in 2003 while waiting for a school bus.

Eight years later, a former Sunshine Coast local, Brett Peter Cowan, who had a long history of preying on children, was charged with his murder.

Years on Cowan, was found guilty after one of the Queensland Police’s most extensive undercover operations in its history.

The covert investigation is unpacked on Crime Insiders | Judgements:

A 2022 movie about Daniel’s story titled ‘The Stranger’, centred around the police efforts and used different names.

The film drew criticism from Daniel Morcombe’s family, who labelled it “callously disrespectful” at the time.

They’ve now launched their own documentary called, ‘Don’t Waste It: The Daniel Morcombe Story’, which went up on YouTube yesterday.

The documentary hears from Daniel’s parents, Bruce and Denise Morcombe, as well as his twin brother Bradley.
