According to the Victoria police, a witness saw a stolen Mercedes flipped onto its side on a footpath after crashing.

Two occupants attempted to escape from the overturned vehicle. However, one of the teens was detained by a member of the public, later identified as Voss.

Victoria Police confirmed that the coach was unharmed during the citizen’s arrest.

“It was a bit of action,” Voss told the Nine Network.

“I was hoping to be on a couple of days’ break, but it’s all good here. I have spoken to the police, but everyone is safe and healthy, and that is all that matters.”

Anna Japp, an employee at Barton Milk Bar, witnessed the crash through the cafe window.

“I saw the side door burst open, and two young guys jumped out of the car pretty much instantly after,” she said.

Voss, who was outside waiting for his takeaway, was among the first to react to the scene.

“After seeing it happen, he was kind of the first to get over there to the scene,” Japp added.

Victoria Police reported that a 16-year-old boy was arrested after attempting to flee the overturned Mercedes, which had crashed around 9 am.

Authorities are still searching for a second suspect who allegedly fled the scene.

He is described as having a “fair complexion, long blond hair, wearing a black cap, black and white scarf, black hoodie, and black pants.”

The Mercedes was reported stolen from Ivanhoe East on 21 August, and the investigation is ongoing.
