Breaking: Two Teens Hand Themselves In To Police In Relation To Sydney Blaze

Two young people have handed themselves in to police in relation to the Sydney CBD fire that gutted two buildings. 

Acting assistant NSW Police commissioner Paul Dunstan has confirmed that two people have handed themselves in to separate police stations overnight.

The news comes after it was revealed a group of young people were seen fleeing the scene of the fire. 

“We are aware of reports overnight of a group of young people seen running from the fire scene shortly after 4PM,” NSW Police commissioner Paul Dunstan said. 

I can confirm that two young people handed themselves in at two separate police stations in the late hours of last night.

Commissioner Dunstan said police are still seeking out several others in relation to the blaze.   

“We are speaking with these young people throughout the evening and they are now assisting police with our inquiries,” he said. 

“I can further confirm we are aware of a further three or four other young people who were present during the fire.

“We asked them to come forward with their parents and put their side of the story forward.” 

Fire crews are still working to extinguish the remnants of the blaze with concerns surrounding falling bricks and walls.
