London’s iconic Australia House has been temporarily renamed “Bluey House” for a day, celebrating the beloved Australian children’s series and its recent achievements.
This playful rebranding coincided with the release of Bluey’s latest episode, “Surprise,” following the extended episode, “The Sign,” which premiered on April 14th.
Bluey, an animated children’s series from Australia, follows the adventures of a family of dogs, focusing on the imaginative escapades of puppy Bluey and her sister Bingo.
The show has captured hearts worldwide since its first release in 2018.
To celebrate this cultural phenomenon, Australia House, home to the Australian High Commission, hosted a joyful event organised by BBC Studios.
There were also live performances by a Bluey marching band next to the event, playing the show’s iconic title music.
At the event, the Australian High Commission in London presented the program with an inaugural Special Recognition Award for cultural impact across Britain and the world.
Australian High Commissioner Stephen Smith said Bluey’s phenomenal success in the UK and globally was “testament to the ingenuity and artistry of Australia’s creative industries”.
“Bluey highlights the power of Australian stories to resonate with children and parents the world over.”
