The Federal Government has placed all CFMEU branches into administration, cutting 270 jobs effective immediately.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said they’re “serious” about cleaning up the CFMEU for good.
The move follows allegations of organised crime and bikie infiltration within the CFMEU.

Melbourne barrister Mark Irving (pictured) will administer the CFMEU’s construction arm, working with the Fair Work Commission.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said: “There’s no place for corruption or intimidation in the building industry with the unions.”
“If you have a corrupt union official, you need a corrupt employer to be paying their money,” he said.
