After four years of political backflips, the Queensland Government will today reveal the venue for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
The Premier’s tipped to announced the construction of a $3.4 billion, 60-thousand seat stadium at Victoria Park, the largest remaining area of green space near the CBD.

Former Queensland Premier Campbell Newman told 10News there hasn’t been enough consultation.
“I’ve seen more consultation putting swings in a local park, and I was a former mayor of Brisbane, we put more time and effort into consulting the community about those sorts of things and here, what we’re about to do is destroy a great park,” Newman said.
This is the third location that’s been tipped to be the Brisbane Olympic venue, to host things like the opening ceremony and to be front and centre on the global stage.
It follows previous proposals for The Gabba which was the first suggestion, currently hosting major sporting games for the AFL and cricke.
The second option was the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre which has previously hosted events for the Commonwealth Games.
Both of those have taken a backseat after much community backlash, projected costing blowouts.
