Five teenagers have been charged following an alleged police pursuit in Newcastle early on Thursday morning.
Police attempted to stop a stolen Hyundai i30 on Parkway Avenue, Cooks Hill, around 3am.

According to the Newcastle City Police District, officers initiated a pursuit when the vehicle allegedly failed to stop.
The chase continued through several suburbs before the car stopped on Industrial Drive, Mayfield West.
Five teenagers were arrested at the scene and taken to Newcastle Police Station.
The alleged driver, a 14-year-old boy, underwent a breath analysis, returning a positive blood alcohol reading of 0.105.
He has been charged with police pursuit, driving a stolen vehicle, and driving under the influence.
He was granted conditional bail and is set to appear in children’s court on 30 October.
A 17-year-old boy was charged with being carried in a stolen vehicle and was also granted conditional bail for the same court date.
Another 16-year-old boy, charged with breach of bail, possession of a knife, and being carried in a stolen vehicle, was refused bail and will appear in court today.
Two others, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, were dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
