John Farnham: Finding the Voice is a new documentary examining the brilliant career of the Aussie singer.
The making of the film became particularly emotional with the shock death of John’s manager Glenn Wheatley – it had been one of his passion projects. His wife Gaynor finished the documentary on his behalf after she found it at the top of his to-do list when she looked in his office.
Gaynor also personally interviewed John Farnham weeks after Glenn’s death, for inclusion in the movie. However, both broke down in tears, with Gaynor stopping recording until they composed themselves.
Talking to the new podcast Behind the Hits: John Farnham, Gaynor said working on the film didn’t help her or John get closure on Glenn’s death. Listen below…
What Made John Farnham Cry When Making His New Documentary?
“I don’t think either of us have actually healed yet. It was too soon to be cathartic. It just opened another wound.” Gaynor revealed.
