Taylor Swift has changed the game in music, now she’s taking on the cinema world.
The superstar is launching her concert film Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour in American cinemas next month.
However Taylor dodged huge offers from Hollywood studios and streaming companies and funded the filming and production of the concert movie themselves – reportedly at a cost of around $25 million.
Team Taylor are also distributing the film themselves, opting for US chain AMC.
AMC will receive 43% of the box office, with Taylor keeping 57%.
American film experts say the concert movie could take over $150 million on its opening weekend of October 13.
Her concert is estimated to make around $3 billion dollars with the current 146 dates announced, making it the highest-grossing live music in history.
The tour reaches Australia in February – the concert movie is expected to air in local cinemas after the tour.
Behind the Hits’ Taylor Swift: Eras special features the star talking about her career, but also fans including Bridget Hustwaite on the trauma of getting tickets for the tour.
