On this day, April 5, in 1994 – 29 years ago. Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain took his own life.
Kurt was found dead at his home in Seattle, aged 27, after escaping from a rehab facility and going missing for a week earlier.
At the time Nirvana accidentally became one of the most popular bands in the world, topping the charts with their second album, 1991’s Nevermind.
They’d release one more studio album, In Utero, while Kurt was alive, with the MTV Unplugged album arriving at the end of 1994.
