Surprise! Foo Fighters Drop New Single and Reveal A New Album

Foo Fighters have thrilled fans with the release of a new single titled ‘Rescued’ and news of a surprise new album.

And you won’t have to wait long – But Here We Are drops on June 2.

Their eleventh album is described as a ‘testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family’.

On their website, the band said the new music follows ‘a year of staggering losses, personal introspection and bittersweet remembrances’ and it will be ‘a brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters have endured recently.’

The first single is called Rescued and the album will be released on white vinyl, black vinyl and CD.

However fans are wondering if the new album will feature songs recorded with drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died in March 2022.

The band had been making new material after the release of 2021’s Medicine at Midnight, which had been made the previous year but was pushed back due to the pandemic, as well as recording after his shock passing.

Foo Fighters have also yet to announce who will replace Hawkins on the drumkit after telling fans they plan to continue as a band.

Fans online are wondering if Grohl will return to the drumkit on the album – the first time since the first two Foo Fighters album – or if the replacement will feature on the new music. Drummers including Josh Freese and Rufus Taylor have been rumoured to be joining the band, with Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron ruling himself out this week.

The band said But Here We Are will ‘sonically channel the naivete of the Foo Fighters’ 1995 debut…the sound of brothers finding refuge in the music that brought them together in the first place 28 years ago’.
