When the rumours starting circulating that Katy Perry was making a return to pure pop music, they weren’t wrong.
Today the singer dropped the music video for her latest song ‘Woman’s World’ and it is the Katy we know and love.
The video is full of iconic messages, iconography and celebrates the feminine power and also includes a message to the one and only Drew Barrymore.
In the scene where Katy’s robotic legs run out of power and she stops to refuel (a great metaphor to remind us that we need to take time to do the same in our lives) we see on the porch of the petrol station, a girl wearing a t-shirt with Drew’s iconic catchphrase from the top she wore to the Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle premiere alongside Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu back in 2003
Some of our other favourite moments in the video include a cameo from internet sensation Trisha Paytas, the OTT gua sha routine and many, many references to Katy’s upcoming album 143… which Katy revealed is her ‘angel number’.
Fans were very quite to declare that Katy is back to claim her crown!
