Ed Sheeran has dropped the news he’s set to drop a new album next month and the message behind it is adorable.
Ed has written 14 songs about 14 of his friends and what they were all going through in Autumn for his new album ‘Autumn Variations’ and will drop on September 29.
The inspiration from the composer Elgar who did a similar thing with 14 compositions, each one inspired by a different friend.
When speaking about his new album, Ed said “Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded. When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on, and when I learned about my friend’s different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness and confusion.”

‘Autumn Variations’ is the first album Ed has released through his own record company Gingerbread Records, it’s producer Aaron Dressner also worked on Taylor Swift’s albums ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’ and TBH, we’d love a mate who would write a song about us!
