Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has been getting roasted by Taylor Swift fans for a cheeky swipe at the omnipresent pop star during a live show in London.
While you read on, catch up on Dave’s heartwarming act in Melbourne late last year:
Why Dave Grohl Has Been Getting Roasted By Taylor Swift Fans
The Foo Fighters were on stage at London Stadium in Stratford on the eastern side of London, whilst at the same time Taylor Swift was performing her Eras Tour at Wembley in the city’s north-west.
Dave couldn’t resist a light-hearted jab at Taylor, bringing up her fans’ reputation for fierce defensiveness of their favourite pop icon.
“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” Dave Grohl said according to news.com.au.
“We like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’,” he continued, referencing Swift’s Eras Tour.
“We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f**king errors as well — just a couple.”
Dave then paused and wound up his stage chat with a cheeky jab that’s the source of the consternation.
“That’s because we actually play live,” he said.
“Just saying!
“You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f***ing place!”
MORE ON DAVE GROHL:
Taylor Swift fans unsurprisingly came for Dave after the video of his stage banter went viral.
Alongside this, another video has gone somewhat viral of Dave telling James Corden about a time when Taylor bailed him out in front of Paul McCartney — by playing a Foo Fighters song.
Dave has his own backers, as well:

Taylor Swift Responds To Dave Grohl
For her part, Taylor Swift has responded to Dave Grohl making his cheeky jibe with her own throwaway line at a London concert.
‘After receiving a standing ovation early on during her concert at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night, Swift made a point to thank her band by noting that they were going to “be playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight”,’ Consequence of Sound reported.
“They deserve this so much,” Swift continued. “And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.”

Where it goes from here, we’re not sure — a public makeup and admission they’re fans of each other’s work, or a deepening of beef Drake/Kendrick style?
Probably more likely the former, but personally, this is my favourite theory:
