These upcoming performances will take place in some of the country’s most iconic rock venues, where the band will showcase their versatility by performing in both acoustic and electric modes.
A Unique Two-Part Concert Experience
The concerts will kick off with an acoustic busking-style set, providing a raw and intimate experience for the audience. This will be followed by a high-energy electric set, featuring some of their biggest anthems like “Lanterns,” “Good Lord,” “Plans,” and “Unbreakable.” By blending acoustic intimacy with the power of their electric performances, Birds Of Tokyo are set to deliver a concert experience unlike any other.
The Inspiration Behind “The Heartbreakers Bar Tour”
The concept for the tour stems from their latest single, “Heartbreakers Bar.” This energetic, leave-your-cares-behind singalong is infused with raw acoustic instrumentation, and its tongue-in-cheek vibe inspired the band to experiment with a live performance style that mirrors the spontaneity of busking. After a brief intermission, the band will return to the stage, fully electrified, to dive deep into their extensive catalog, including tracks that have won them multiple APRA Awards and topped the ARIA album charts.
Support Acts and Ticket Information
Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Sahara Beck will be the special guest for all dates on the tour, adding her own unique flavor to the lineup. The tour is proudly presented by Triple M, and tickets will be available through a presale for band and venue databases starting at 10 am (local time) on Monday, August 19, running until 5 pm (local time) on Tuesday, August 20, or until sold out. For those who miss out, the general public ticket release will follow at 10 am (local time) on Wednesday, August 21.
A Long-Awaited Return to Intimate Venues
This tour marks Birds Of Tokyo’s first headlining tour since before the pandemic, making it a highly anticipated return for both the band and their fans. Frontman Ian Kenny expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s been over five years since we’ve played in our old stomping grounds like The Enmore and The Forum, so we’re really looking forward to finally getting back into those rooms that everyone loves.”
Guitarist Adam Spark added, “We’ve had the privilege of performing at some incredible outdoor shows and collaborating with orchestras in recent years, but these two-act gigs will allow us to dig a bit deeper into our catalog and play some songs we haven’t done in ages. The acoustic set, paired with our usual electric performance, should keep us on our toes and add an extra layer of fun for the audience.”
