Teachers and educators play an important role in the lives of children and for Simone’s son Emmett, teacher Kristen has made a life-changing impact.
Simone tells her story on Bec & Soda’s Thank Bank, sharing details behind his childhood which saw Kristen step up and support him through school.
When Emmett was 3 years old, he had a horrific head injury and as Simone describes he was “one layer away” from piercing right into his skull.
Combined with an autism diagnosis, this meant that starting school was going to be very difficult. This is where Emmett’s first teacher Kristen Cooke stepped up to support him.
