Queensland Opposition Leader Smashes Premier Miles And Shares His Alternative Brisbane Olympics Plan

“My plea to Queenslanders is: They’ve had 1,000 days and created the mess; Give me 100 days and we can fix this mess.” So says Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli, speaking this morning to Stav, Abby & Matt on B105.

Crisafulli’s message to Brisbane about the 2032 Olympics was clear: “My plan is to deliver it, and deliver it world class!”

The Queensland government have strongly denied reports that they investigated dumping the Olympic Games, then this week that there has been a backflip over plans for a $2.7bn rebuild of The Gabba. All of which has left the administration and Premier Steven Miles under immense pressure – both nationally and internationally.

With the Queensland election due later this year, Liberal National Party Leader David Crisafulli is looking to seize the passion Queenslanders feel for the Olympics to share his own vision for the type of Games he wants to deliver.

The State election is coming up in October, if Crisafulli is elected he promises to turn the Olympic plans around. He plans to set up an independent infrastructure authority, which every other Olympics has had up until this point. His plea to make sure Brisbane is showcased to the world should also go down well with his electorate.

Crisafulli joined the B105 breakfast show ‘Stav, Abby & Matt’ to make his pledges and put a very clear flag in the ground early ahead of October’s polls.
