We’re getting behind the importance of mental health, as part of the Australian Commercial Radio Industry’s “You’re The Voice”, a nationwide mental health initiative, and this morning, we spoke with Mitch Tambo, a Gamilaraay man who you may or may not recognise from Australia’s Got Talent.
Mitch spent time with Pete, Matt and Kymba to talk about the campaign and how we can keep the conversation going.
As you’ll hear, Mitch gives his own account about his struggle with anxiety and how Australia’s Got Talent helped him deal with it.
“I made a commitment that year that I didn’t want to be governed by that little voice anymore that was containing me,
“That year I wanted to step out and get uncomfortable and say yes to opportunity more than I said no,
“It’s breaking that stigma, trying to take some of the labels off and normalise it. Mental Health is a part of every day life and it’s not going to go away.”
