Premier Mark McGowan has given a strong hint that WA could be taking Queensland’s lead when it comes to dealing with the housing crisis.
He revealed this morning to Kymba that the idea of Landlords only being able to legally raise the rent on a property only once a year “sounds reasonable to me.”
“We want more people to put more rentals out there. So you have to encourage people to do that, but you also have to ensure, if they’re putting up rents all the time, that tenants aren’t treated that way,
“So that’s what Queensland have done, gone to once a year.”
We’re sure that there are many people in WA who will be happy to hear that this could be a possibility.
