DT38: The Heartbreaking Perth Connection To Tonight’s EPL Blockbuster At Optus

It’s a momentous day for #Perth football fans with not one but two EPL teams playing a friendly at Optus Stadium. It’s West Ham United versus Tottenham Hotspurs.

Now, what you might not know is that there is a poignant Perth connection to this game tonight. In particular, a close connection to West Ham in the form of DT38, which will be represented on the West Ham player jerseys.

LISTEN:

“DT” stands for Dylan Tombides, a Perth native who tragically lost his battle with testicular cancer at just 20 years of age. Dylan wore the number 38 as an academy player for West Ham.

This morning, Pete, Matt and Kymba spoke with Dylan’s brother Taylor about Dylan’s legacy, what it means for their beloved West Ham to be playing in Perth tonight and what the DT38 foundation is doing to help raise awareness about testicular cancer and men’s health.
