Pat Carrigan Hates ANZ Stadium

Queensland Origin forward Pat Carrigan says he hates playing at the “eerie” ANZ stadium and is thrilled Magic Round is played at Suncorp.

Built for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, ANZ (now Accor Stadium) has copped backlash in the past for its lack of soul due to its sparse design.

WHY CARRIGAN HATES ANZ:

“It’s massive and you don’t pack it out,” Carrigan said.

“You play and there might be 20,000 but it’s a 100,000 stadium and they’re all on one side, it’s eerie.”

Coming off the back of a controversial 32-6 loss to the Rabbitohs, the top of the table Broncos are looking to bounce back tomorrow night as they face the Sea Eagles.

During last Friday’s match, the Bunnies accidentally had an estimated 15-20 second period where 14 players took to the field.

South Sydney were issued with a breach notice from the NRL last night that proposed a $15,000 fine for two infringements from the club.

But Carrigan told B105’s Stav, Abby and Matt that “it wouldn’t have made much of a difference” to the game’s outcome.

The lock and prop will be a Bronco until at least the end of the 2028 season after signing a fresh $4 million deal.
