Neighbour Of Townsville Shooter Shares Her Experience From The First Gunshot

Last night a suburb of Townsville was sent into a 10-hour lockdown as a man barricaded himself inside a Kirwan property after several gunshots. 

Local Kirwan resident Jess calls into Cliffo and Bronte as her backyard backs onto the shooter’s yard. She tells her experience as her and her partner first heard noises at 8.30pm thinking it was just “fireworks”. Quickly noticing their “garden shed was shaking” they ran inside and locked themselves inside their home. 

The police knocked on their door and told them to “bunker down, lock your doors, turn all your lights off and stay at the front of your house”.
