Former NRL player for the Brisbane Broncos Ben Hannant and radio breakfast host for SeaFM Gold Coast had a massive weekend with another boxing fight. On Saturday Ben went up to Townsville to get in the ring with Parramatta Eels prop Junior Paulo for ‘Battle On The Reef’. Ben says “Sometimes you bite off more than you can chew. I took a big bite but unfortunately, I bit off more than I can chew.”
“The fight started really well” as he tells his radio colleagues Bianca and Lakey that he has the first hit. However, then he was hit with a left hook, and “all of a sudden I went down, I went timber”.
Ben says, “I was trying to reboot myself, trying to get back up. I was like ‘this doesn’t feel right’”.
After several big fights over the years with other NRL players like Paul Gallon, Justin Hodges, and Josh Papali’i. Ben announces what is in store for him next:
