Our favourite Instagram dad Sean Szeps is releasing his memoir ‘Not like other dads’ a fearless, frank and funny memoir about reinventing the rules of parenting. Sean joins Bianca, Ben and Lakey as he talks about his new book and how he struggled with post-natal depression as a new gay dad.
Sean “wanted to be a mum at the age of 4 when he fell in love with Mrs Potts the teapot in Beauty and the Beast”. He became a parent thanks to a family member being a surrogate in 2018 to twins, a boy and a girl with his husband Josh. However, since being a parent he receives a lot of comments from other parents as well as his children saying, “where’s your mother” when the kids reply that they don’t have one the response is “well everyone has a mother”. Sean admits this is a big challenge they face every day.
