Logie Nominee Kween Kong Reveals What It Means For The LGBTQIA+ Community

It’s that time of the year again but this time, there’s a little extra excitement in the air when it comes to the 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards! Not only are they in Sydney for the first time in years, they have a new home on Channel 7 and some absolute icons of the small screen have been nominated.

Entertainment Reporter Justin Hill caught up with the nominee for the Graham Kennedy Award For Most Popular New Talent, Drag performer, and star of the Stan Original RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Kween Kong about her nomination and what it means to the LGBTQIA+ community… listen below!

Everything You Need To Know From This Year’s Logie Nominations

“Definitely lots of support from the community…the sisters are really ready to campaign” Kween Kong revealed when speaking about her own nomination PLUS the fact that RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under itself is up for an award as well!

Another exciting addition to this year’s awards is for the first time in 11 years we will have a solo host of the evening with that honor carried out by comedian Sam Pang. Sam impressed us with his humour after stepping in for Kitty Flanagan to collect her award last year PLUS voting will open for all popular awards at 9am AEST Monday 19 June and remain open until the end of the red carpet telecast, except for the coveted TV WEEK Gold Logie Award, which, for the first time ever, will stay open throughout the telecast and close at 10.30pm AEST.
