Actress Blake Lively has dropped two claims against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, but the high-profile legal battle between the pair is far from over.
Lively filed to dismiss her emotional distress claims against Baldoni after his legal team attempted to access her medical records and therapy notes. In a letter to Judge Lewis Liman, Baldoni’s lawyers said Lively chose to withdraw the claims rather than provide that documentation.
They accused her of avoiding disclosure that could disprove her allegations of emotional harm.

Lively’s team called the move a “routine part of litigation” aimed at “streamlining and focusing” the case. They described Baldoni’s filing as a “press stunt” meant to generate further tabloid interest.
The withdrawn claims – intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress – were dismissed without prejudice, meaning Lively could refile them later. Her core allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation remain, with a trial scheduled for March 2026.
Last month, Baldoni also dropped a subpoena issued to Taylor Swift, who was named in the case for allegedly helping Lively push for script rewrites.
Swift’s team said she was never involved in the film’s production.
Lively’s lawyers welcomed the withdrawal, calling the subpoena “inappropriate.”
The legal battle began in 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of harassment and reputational damage during the promotion of It Ends With Us. In response, Baldoni filed his own suit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation, civil extortion, and invasion of privacy.
Both sides deny the other’s claims.
