Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Set To Make Millions For Sydney Economy 

Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated Eras Tour hits Australia next February, leaving fans scrambling for tickets and the Sydney economy buzzing with excitement.

General admission tickets sold out in mere minutes, with some parents of Swifties struggling to even log onto the website.

The 108-date tour is expected to gross over a billion dollars, making it the biggest music tour of all time. 

On today’s episode of This Arvo In Sydney, LiSTNR podcast producer Simon Beaton talked to financial experts to find out how Sydney is about to make millions off Taylor Swift shows.

Beaton said there were four concerts in Sydney at Accor Stadium and another three at MCG in Melbourne, with 630,000 tickets selling out.

The economic impact of Taylor Swift extends to various industries, including hotels, transport and shopping.

At the weekend, Hilton Hotel’s Area Vice President and Head of Australia, Paul Hutton, told News Ltd that booking volumes for Hilton Sydney and Hilton Melbourne went up by 1,129 per cent and up by 9,400 per cent, respectively.

We are talking about flights, hotels, meals, merchandise, the whole lot… It’s gonna be a noticeable impact come February. That is gonna be a big deal.”

Nine’s Finance Editor Chris Kohler said on the Today show

Dan Fleetwood, the president of QuestionPro Research and Insights, told the New York Post that the economic impact of Swift is larger than dozens of countries, as the Eras Tour is estimated to generate $5 billion.

Michelle Andrews, the host of the Shameless podcast, said there was a huge element of FOMO.
