Breaking records on and off the field has seen the Matildas change the way the nation views women’s sport forever.
B105’s Stav, Abby and Matt spoke to Brisbane’s Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner about yesterday’s celebratory event where the Matilda’s were handed the keys to the city.
“Words are never enough — but today, on behalf of the city of Brisbane, on behalf of the people of Brisbane, it’s my honour to give [the Matildas] the keys to the city.”
Mr Schrinner said it was “the greatest honour that a city can bestow on any person or any team”.
Brisbane’s Stav, Abby and Matt are on B105 weekdays from 6am-9am or catch up anytime on the LiSTNR app!
