Alex Rance has revealed Trent Cotchin’s challenge to Adelaide Captain Tex Walker during the 2017 Grand Final parade.
He promised his Richmond teammates he would hold the cup for longer than his Adelaide counterpart.
The twist – Tex didn’t know about it.
“The day before when both teams line up in Brunton Ave in the Park and both captains hold the cup up in the park,” Rance told Mark Howard on The Howie Games.
“So Tex was the captain at the time, and as a laugh, Cotch said to us ‘I’m not going to let it go’,” Rance said.
“This is that backstory that nobody really knew.”
