Ryan Daniels has urged West Coast fans to be patient about the controversial three-way trade that saw the Eagles lose pick 3 on Xav & Michelle this morning.
The Eagles brought in Liam Baker from Richmond, Matt Owies from Carlton and picks 12 and 73 in the trade, but gave up their prized pick 3 as well as well later picks in 63 and 68.
“I would have had 200 people on social media last night say they’re ticked off, handing back memberships,” Daniels said.
“What I will say is this: you can’t always grade these things in the moment.
“So take a deep breath for a second, tell your group chat to take a breath, because you don’t know what might happen today.”
“There might be a great deal for Tom Barrass… and who knows, pick 12 might just be the next Marcus Bontempelli.
Xavier Ellis — who says that he likes Liam Baker as a player and realises he will make the Eagles better — outlined his frustrations with the deal.
“Without being a silly dilly, why is there not people being traded out?” Xav asked.
“They’ve got not a great deal of kids, they’re getting in three 26-27 year olds, I just can not see how that is lifting your ceiling.
“It might lift the floor next year, but the ceiling’s not getting higher in my opinion… they’ve just gotta get kids.”

Ryan, Xav & Michelle also took calls from frustrated Eagles fans who vented their own annoyance at the trade.
