Ollie Wines has told the Saturday Rub about the “honest conversations” he had with coach Ken Hinkley during the bye period – and how it helped return some self-pride.
“I’ve probably been a little critical of myself and what I’m able to do with such talent around me.”
Wines admits he faced mental battles with his overall impact the past two years compared to his Brownlow-winning form in 2021.
“Seeing these guys picked in front of me, at the peak of their powers in their mid 20’s getting All-Australians and carving up the league – I questioned if I was still capable of that.”
