Today on the Western Huddle, Andrew Embley has pointed out that Fremantle’s lack of thorough research on their opponents is adversely affecting their performance in the game.
LISTEN:
Andrew “Embers” Embley has expressed his doubts about the Dockers’ focus for the 2023 AFL season, after Caleb Serong revealed on a recent podcast that they hadn’t looked into St Kilda before round 1.
“All Fremantle’s focus this pre-season has been about themselves,” Embers said.
“Going into that game, it was almost, they showed no respect whatsoever to their opposition.”
Xavier Ellis then recalls his AFL debut and acknowledged that Alastair Clarkson had a similar mindset, which he promptly abandoned and never exhibited again.
“Clarko did not put the opposition magnets on the board,” Xav said.
“We got absolutely walloped…it never happened again.”
Also on the Western Huddle, Xavier Ellis, Andrew Embley and Tom Atkinson give a summary of round 1 of the AFL and Embers offers hope to the West Coast Eagles.
