Max Gawn has come to the defence of Simon Goodwin, amid reports against the premiership coach.

While discussing Goodwin’s two-year contract extension on Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show, Gawn said “see if the Herald Sun write about that one”.
“He’s always in the paper for reasons that aren’t his fault. We’ve been top four the last three years.
Gawn suggested his coach cops unnecessary negativity from media outlets.
“He’s a really good coach, and deserves the praise. He doesn’t get it enough.”
