After nearly two decades behind the microphone, Western Bulldogs great and long-time Triple M voice Luke Darcy is stepping back from his commentary commitments with both Seven and Triple M.
He joined Triple M Breakfast with Rosie, Wil and Daisy to exclusively explain his difficult decision.
Amongst the host of factors Darc needed to consider was juggling his son Sam’s blossoming career at the Doggies with his broadcasting commitments.
“It’s a nerve-racking thing to sit there and watch him play.”
Darc will officially hang up the mic after he calls the 2024 AFL Grand Final for Triple M Footy on Saturday.
“I will savour every moment of Grand Final Day.”
SCA’s Head of Sports Content Ewan Giles paid tribute to the lasting impact Darc has left on the station.
“With Luke Darcy making his final call, it’s a special moment for all of us at Triple M. His impact on footy broadcasting has been immense, and we’re honoured to have him finish this chapter of his iconic career with us.”
